The questions families ask us most. Don't see yours? Ask us directly.
FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) gives your student exclusive ownership over their educational records once they turn 18 or enroll in college, whichever is first. Without a signed release from your student, the university cannot share grades, attendance, financial aid status, or disciplinary records with you.
Your student can grant you FERPA access on the Connect to my Student page in this portal. Many students grant partial access (e.g., billing only). You can ask them to do this; the university cannot do it for you.
Go to the Your Student's Data page, find the "Amount Due" tile, and click "Pay tuition bill" — or pay through TouchNet (the same portal your student uses). Payment plans are available; contact the Bursar at billing@captureu.edu.
Start with the Office of Student Success. They can route to academic advisors, the Counseling Center, accessibility services, or emergency-aid funds depending on what's needed.
In a true emergency (active crisis, hospitalization, etc.), call campus safety: (317) 555-0911 — 24/7.
Yes! There's a concurrent parent program at every orientation session. It covers FERPA, billing, residence life, and student wellness, with breakout sessions for first-gen and international families.
Three good entry points: (1) the Parent & Family Relations office runs ambassador programs, (2) the Family Scholarship Fund matches family giving 1:1 during Family Weekend, and (3) the communities in this portal are where families connect with each other directly.

Your feed is personalized based on which communities you follow, what stage your student is in (prospective, admitted, current, alum), and what's been useful to families like yours in the past. You can manage your preferences in your profile. See Why this is different for the full explanation.
