What We Look For

Admission Requirements

We take a holistic approach to admissions, considering academic achievement, character, and potential.

Academic Record

Competitive applicants typically have a 3.5+ GPA in a college-prep curriculum. We value an upward trend and challenging courses.

Standardized Tests

Test-optional for 2026-2027. If submitted, middle 50% ranges: SAT 1200-1380, ACT 26-31.

Personal Essays

One primary essay (Common App or Coalition) plus one Capture U supplement. Show us who you are beyond your transcript.

Recommendations

Two letters: one from a counselor and one from a teacher in a core subject. Optional third from a mentor or employer.

Test-Optional Policy

Capture University is test-optional for all undergraduate applicants through the 2027-2028 admissions cycle. Applicants who do not submit scores will not be disadvantaged in the review process.

International Students

International applicants follow the same admissions process as domestic students, with a few additional requirements. Our dedicated International Admissions team is here to guide you every step of the way.

Capture University is authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students. We provide comprehensive support for visa applications, housing, and cultural adjustment.

English Proficiency

If English is not your primary language, you must demonstrate proficiency through one of the following:

TOEFL iBT

Minimum score of 80 (100+ recommended for merit scholarships)

IELTS Academic

Minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no section below 6.0

Frequently Asked Questions

Early Decision I deadline is November 1, Early Decision II is January 1, and Regular Decision is January 15. Transfer applicants have a rolling deadline with priority consideration by April 1. We strongly recommend submitting well before the deadline.

Interviews are optional but recommended. We offer both on-campus and virtual interview options. Interviews give you the chance to share your story in your own words and learn more about Capture University directly from an admissions representative.

Yes. Capture University is test-optional through the 2027-2028 admissions cycle. You will not be disadvantaged if you choose not to submit SAT or ACT scores. If you feel your test scores reflect your academic ability, you are welcome to include them.

The application fee is $50. Fee waivers are available for students who demonstrate financial need. If you qualify for a College Board, ACT, or NACAC fee waiver, we will automatically waive your application fee.

Early Decision I applicants receive decisions by mid-December. Early Decision II applicants hear by mid-February. Regular Decision notifications are sent by March 15. All decisions are released via your online admissions portal.
